It ends with us review

This past Monday, I saw a movie called It Ends with Us in South Orange, New Jersey. It was based off the book of the same name by Colleen Hoover. I liked the movie.

It was about a woman named Lily Bloom who dreams of opening her flower shop in Boston, Massachusetts. She returns to her hometown in Maine to give a eulogy for her father's funeral. She walks out in the middle of it. He had been abusive to her mother.

Later on, Lily meets Ryle who is a neurosurgeon. Ryle seems charming at first. Later on, Lily and Ryle get into a relationship that turns toxic and violent. Ryle hits Lily for the first time wile making breakfast.

One night Lily, her mom and Ryle go out to dinner where they see Lily's childhood sweetheart, Atlas working as a waiter. Ryle got jealous and got violent with Atlas.

Atlas warns Lily to get out and escape. Eventually, Ryle and Lily get married and have a daughter. After their daughter was born, Ryle continues to be abusive to Lily. Lily asks Ryle for a divorce ending the toxic relationship.

In the end,  Lily gets custody of her daughter. In divorcing Ryle, Lily breaks the cycle of domestic violence. That is why the movie is called It Ends with Us.

I give this movie a 7 out of 10. I thought the performances were decent, and I was happy that Lily found the courage to get out of the toxic relationship. I liked the plot.
