My vacation to Long Beach Island, New Jersey

I was in Long Beach Island, New Jersey for one week. I was there July 20 through the 27.

Long Beach Island is a skinny part of the NJ shore. You have to get there by car and you have to cross a bridge to get there. LBI was crowded but some parts were not as crowded. 

Here are some things that I did during my vacation. I went to the beach mostly and I went swimming in the ocean. The ocean was cold but the water warmed up later in the week. I collected seashells and I walked on the beach. Me, my mom and my dog Harley went to Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars, NJ and we saw some beautiful sunsets.
On Wednesday night we went out to dinner at a restaurant called The Black whale. It is in Beach Haven, NJ. The food is really good! I had some lobster and I enjoyed it very much. I had mussels, calamari and clams as well.

Me and my mom went to Viking Village to do some shopping and I went to Fantasy Island with my dad. Fantasy Island is a really fun amusement park in Beach Haven, NJ. I have been to both Viking Village and Fantasy Island many times in the past and I love it!
We rented a beach house in Harvey Cedars, NJ and we had BBQ outside some days for dinner. We had steak, corn, hamburgers, etc. It was really delicious.

On July 27, we spent some time at the beach and we went back to Maplewood, NJ. It was a really fun trip down the NJ Shore.

I recently saw the movie American Fiction in a local movie theater. I really liked it. It was a comedy drama.  The comedy parts made me laugh and the drama parts got me in awe. It made me think a lot about what people write about in books. It made me think about whether there should be a difference between a white writer and a writer of color. Galantine’s day celebration

I had a Galantine’s day celebration at Benihana on Saturday night. I had a phenomenal time. I always was a fan of girls get togethers and hibachi. I came up with girls get togethers last September. Me and my female friends went to the Cheesecake Factory for my 28th birthday and we had a great time! When I hang out with my female friends, I feel very happy. I have a great time with them. For my next all girls get together, we are going to a farm for an Easter/Spring festival this March. I cannot wait for it!  Cheers! The gang is all here!  Me and Leila

Broadway Music and My Favorite Composers

 I would like to tell you about my favorite composers. These composers made an impact on the stage as well in music. Here is Alan Menken in his recording studio  Alan Menken was one of my favorites. He wrote the music for Beauty and the Beast as well as Little Shop of Horrors. I like him because he wrote music for Broadway as well as for the movies and both of these were made into movies.  Here is a young Stephen Sondheim at an event  Another one I enjoy is Stephen Sondheim. He wrote the music for Gypsy, Company, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and Follies, just to name a few. He had a very long and legendary career on Broadway. Sondheim was a trailblazer. When he passed away in 2021 the loss was immense. Even the Broadway lights dimmed for him. A lot of famous people posted on social media their condolences and their memories of him.
