My love of Photography

 My love of photography started when I was in grade school. My school had this program called the SEE program. We got digital cameras that belonged to the school and we took pictures of certain things outside. It was during class at that time. I was in awe at that time. I was very enamored as well. 

We had to take pictures of nature such as trees, flowers and sometimes the sky. The SEE program was a great thing to do. I enjoyed every minute of it. When I got through that class, I was so happy that I took it. It was one of the things that brought me happiness. I was in love with photography ever since. 

As I got older, I wanted my own digital camera. I got my own during my college days. It was around my freshman year of college in 2014 that I got one.  I was attending CIP (College Internship Program) at that time and I took classes at Berkshire Community College. Photography was a course that I took at that time. I learned to use Photoshop and I enjoyed it.  

I had an iPhone as well to take pictures on. I usually took selfies, nature pictures, what I did during college, food, etc. It was pretty cool. I enjoyed it very much at that time. 

I would post the pictures on social media, send it to my family as well as my friends and I would email pictures sometimes.

Currently, I take picture of my vacations, (see my blog on August 1 about my trip to Long Beach Island, New Jersey. I was there from July 20-27 2024.) pictures of my friends during our outings, pictures at restaurants, etc.

 I would like to tell you about my favorite composers. These composers made an impact on the stage as well in music. Here is Alan Menken in his recording studio  Alan Menken was one of my favorites. He wrote the music for Beauty and the Beast as well as Little Shop of Horrors. I like him because he wrote music for Broadway as well as for the movies and both of these were made into movies.  Here is a young Stephen Sondheim at an event  Another one I enjoy is Stephen Sondheim. He wrote the music for Gypsy, Company, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and Follies, just to name a few. He had a very long and legendary career on Broadway. Sondheim was a trailblazer. When he passed away in 2021 the loss was immense. Even the Broadway lights dimmed for him. A lot of famous people posted on social media their condolences and their memories of him. My weekend trip to Pennsylvania and Upstate New York

This is the Delaware River On June 21-23 I was at my friend Mike's river home in Damascus, Pennsylvania. It is right by the Delaware River. Mike's mom picked me up from New Jersey and took me to Pennsylvania. When I got there Mike and his girlfriend Lesley were happy to see me. I am also good friends with Lesley. We played a game of Trouble and on Friday night we went to an Italian restaurant called Peppino's. Peppino's is in the Catskills in Callicoon, New York. I got spaghetti and red sauce. It was very delicious. After dinner, we watched the movie The Sandlot on TV. It was a good movie.  This was my dinner at Peppino's On Saturday morning, me, Mike and Lesley had pancakes for breakfast. Mike and his dad made them. They were scrumptious!  After breakfast, we watched the Delaware river go by. For lunch, we went back to Callicoon to the Kitchen Table. I had a BLT and Mike and Lesley had grilled cheese. It was good! We saw the movie Inside Out two in the Callico...

My weekend trip June 21-23

Callicoon Theater, Callicoon, NY Usually I use this blog for movie reviews, Broadway musicals, etc. But I also love doing certain things with some friends of mine.  This weekend I am going to my friend Mike's family river home in Damascus, Pennsylvania. It is right on the Delaware River. Mike's girlfriend Lesley is going with us along with Mike's parents and his dogs Trooper and Elsie.  On Friday night, we are going to a restaurant called Peppino's. Peppino's is an Italian restaurant in Callicoon, New York. I have been there in the past and their food is so good!  On Saturday, Mike is going to make some pancakes for breakfast. Then all three of us are seeing the sequel to the movie Inside Out in the Callicoon Theater. It is going to be a good movie.  On Sunday, I am going back to New Jersey from Pennsylvania.
