Novocaine movie review

On March 15th, I saw the movie Novocaine in the Manville movie theater in Manville, NJ.

It was about a man named Nathan Caine who works at a bank in California. He has a condition that doesn't let him feel any pain on his body. He works with a woman named Sherry, who has a crush on him. Sherry asks Nathan out on a date after work. Nathan says yes, but he is nervous because he was very sheltered due to his condition.

He asks his online gaming friend Roscoe for some advice. Roscoe tells Nathan to play it cool. Nathan and Sherry go on their first date to an art show. He bumps into a guy who used to bully him in school. The bully calls him Novocaine, a nickname they used to call him.

The art show was located at a bar and Sherry tricks the bully into drinking hot sauce at the bar. The bully feels the heat and the pain when he tastes it. After the art show, Sherry and Nathan leave to go back to Nathan's place and they start getting intimate.

Christmas Eve lands the next day, and everything is normal at work at first. Little did they know that bank robbers, dressed in Santa costumes, would steal money from the bank. After the bank was robbed they kidnap Sherry and take her to an abandoned building. Nathan has to go on a wild goose chase to rescue Sherry from the bank robbers.

I enjoyed the action and some of the humor. A scene I really enjoyed was Nathan breaking into the home of one of the bank robbers. The house that he was in was booby trapped. The way he found the house was due to a tattoo that one of the bank robbers had. While there, the bank robber's brother tries to kill Nathan.

Eventually Roscoe, his online gaming friend, rescues Nathan and they finally meet. Another scene I enjoyed was Nathan trying cherry pie for the first time during one of Sherry and Nathan's dates. He tried it and he liked it.

I give this movie a 10 out of 10.
