One of Them Days movie review


Last week I saw One of Them Days in West Orange with a friend of mine and I thought it was so hilarious! It was about these two best friends named Dreux and Alyssa. 

Dreux works as a waitress in a diner and Alyssa works as an aspiring artist. Alyssa has a boyfriend and they have been dating for quite some time. It turns out Alyssa's boyfriend is cheating on her and he stole Dreux and Alyssa's rent money. 

Alyssa and Dreux go on a wild goose chase to get the rent money to save themselves from getting evicted from their apartment complex. They go after Alyssa's boyfriend because he stole the rent money. 

During their wild goose chase to get the rent money, they meet a man named Lucky. They meet him outside of a bank and they befriend him. Dreux and Alyssa go into the bank and ask for a loan. They did that so they can pay rent and save themselves from getting evicted. They get turned away.

Then they go to a blood center so that they can donate blood for money. Alyssa gets into an argument with a nurse and pulls the needle out of Dreux's arm. Blood is everywhere. They don't get any money here.

In the end, Alyssa hosts her art show and gets some money. Alyssa and Dreux save themselves from getting evicted and Dreux gets a manger job at the diner that she works at. Alyssa and her boyfriend break up and she becomes a world renowned artist.

I rate this movie a 10 out of 10. There were some funny moments such as Alyssa climbing up a landline to get a pair of shoes that were up on the wires.  Dreux and Alyssa's friendship is a strong one. They always support each other. That is something important to me with my friends.

He wrote the music for Gypsy, Company, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and Follies, just to name a few. He had a very long and legendary career on Broadway. Sondheim was a trailblazer. When he passed away in 2021 the loss was immense. Even the Broadway lights dimmed for him. A lot of famous people posted on social media their condolences and their memories of him. My weekend trip to Pennsylvania and Upstate New York

This is the Delaware River On June 21-23 I was at my friend Mike's river home in Damascus, Pennsylvania. It is right by the Delaware River. Mike's mom picked me up from New Jersey and took me to Pennsylvania. When I got there Mike and his girlfriend Lesley were happy to see me. I am also good friends with Lesley. We played a game of Trouble and on Friday night we went to an Italian restaurant called Peppino's. Peppino's is in the Catskills in Callicoon, New York. I got spaghetti and red sauce. It was very delicious. After dinner, we watched the movie The Sandlot on TV. It was a good movie.  This was my dinner at Peppino's On Saturday morning, me, Mike and Lesley had pancakes for breakfast. Mike and his dad made them. They were scrumptious!  After breakfast, we watched the Delaware river go by. For lunch, we went back to Callicoon to the Kitchen Table. My weekend trip June 21-23

Callicoon Theater, Callicoon, NY Usually I use this blog for movie reviews, Broadway musicals, etc. But I also love doing certain things with some friends of mine.  This weekend I am going to my friend Mike's family river home in Damascus, Pennsylvania. It is right on the Delaware River. Mike's girlfriend Lesley is going with us along with Mike's parents and his dogs Trooper and Elsie.  On Friday night, we are going to a restaurant called Peppino's. Peppino's is an Italian restaurant in Callicoon, New York. I have been there in the past and their food is so good!  On Saturday, Mike is going to make some pancakes for breakfast. Then all three of us are seeing the sequel to the movie Inside Out in the Callicoon Theater. It is going to be a good movie.  On Sunday, I am going back to New Jersey from Pennsylvania.
