Bowling with friends

Image
This past March 9th, I was at Hanover Lanes in East Hanover, NJ. I was there with some friends of mine. I  have been bowling since I was younger. I used to bowl at Eagle Rock Lanes in West Orange, NJ in the past. Sadly, Eagle Rock Lanes shut their doors permanently, which means they shut their doors forever. I was very sad to see Eagle Rock Lanes go. I enjoyed that place dearly. There is a part of me that wishes Eagle Rock Lanes was still open.  First me and my friends needed to get bowling shoes at Hanover Lanes. We could not go bowling without our bowling shoes.  We were on two teams and we played two games. We had a lot of fun at the time. We were very happy there. I myself was having fun at Hanover Lanes. I bowled an 85 and 81 during the two games I played. We did not win any prizes but we had a great time! All that matters is that we were having fun! After bowling was over, some of us ate at the bowling alley. There was a small snack bar there.  I really enjoyed...

Super Bowl 2025

Image
The Super Bowl was on February 9th. I went to my friend Jessy Leppert's Super Bowl party at his house in Bridgewater, NJ. It was the Kansas City Chiefs vs.the Philadelphia Eagles.  I had a great time at my friend's Super Bowl Party. I rooted for the Kansas City Chiefs, but I was happy that the Philadelphia Eagles won. I was happy they won because they did a great job.  Group picture Super Bowl 2025  I enjoyed some of the Super Bowl commercials as well. One of my favorites was Catherine O Hara vs. Willem Dafoe in a game of pickle ball. It was for a Michelob Ultra commercial. I enjoyed that one very much. Another Super Bowl commercial I enjoyed was the trailer for the live action Lilo and Stitch. Stitch was running across the football field and I was laughing my head off! It was so funny! It was one of the funniest Super Bowl commercials that I have seen! I also loved the commercial with sloths doing everyday things such as work, driving and all other activities. It w...

Companion movie review

Image
On Groundhog's day, I saw the movie Companion with a friend of mine at the Mountainside movie theater. The reason why I picked that movie is because me and my friend enjoyed the trailer for it when we saw One of Them Days. Since Groundhog's day was on a Sunday this year, we decided to go see it. It was a coincidence.  It was about this lady named Iris who is dating Josh. They met at a grocery store and they fell in love. Later on, Iris and Josh went on a vacation to an isolated lake house with their friends Kat, Patrick and Eli. Kat's boyfriend   Sergey owns that lake house. They have fun with their friends at first. The next day, as Iris looks at the view of the lake, Sergey greets her and wants her to put sunscreen on him. Sergey tries to seduce and assault Iris but she stabs him to death. She tells her boyfriend Josh and her friend Kat but Josh tells her to go to sleep and she blacks out.  Iris is then tied to a chair and wakes up. Josh tells her that she is a ...

My love of Photography

Image
My love of photography started when I was in grade school. My school had this program called the SEE program. We got digital cameras that belonged to the school and we took pictures of certain things outside. It was during class at that time. I was in awe at that time. I was very enamored as well.  We had to take pictures of nature such as trees, flowers and sometimes the sky. The SEE program was a great thing to do. I enjoyed every minute of it. When I got through that class, I was so happy that I took it. It was one of the things that brought me happiness. I was in love with photography ever since.  As I got older, I wanted my own digital camera. I got my own during my college days. It was around my freshman year of college in 2014 that I got one.  I was attending CIP (College Internship Program) at that time and I took classes at Berkshire Community College. Photography was a course that I took at that time. I learned to use Photoshop and I enjoyed it.   I h...

One of Them Days movie review

Image
Last week I saw One of Them Days in West Orange with a friend of mine and I thought it was so hilarious! It was about these two best friends named Dreux and Alyssa.  Dreux works as a waitress in a diner and Alyssa works as an aspiring artist. Alyssa has a boyfriend and they have been dating for quite some time. It turns out Alyssa's boyfriend is cheating on her and he stole Dreux and Alyssa's rent money.  Alyssa and Dreux go on a wild goose chase to get the rent money to save themselves from getting evicted from their apartment complex. They go after Alyssa's boyfriend because he stole the rent money.  During their wild goose chase to get the rent money, they meet a man named Lucky. They meet him outside of a bank and they befriend him. Dreux and Alyssa go into the bank and ask for a loan. They did that so they can pay rent and save themselves from getting evicted. They get turned away. Then they go to a blood center so that they can donate blood for money. Alyssa gets ...

A Complete Unknown - Movie Review

Image
This is the movie poster for A Complete Unknown On December 30, 2024 I saw the Bob Dylan biopic called A Complete Unknown . I saw it in the AMC Mountainside with some friends. It is about the life and career of  Bob Dylan before he became famous. It was set during the early 1960's. He had moved to New York City from Minnesota, looking for his hero, Woody Guthrie. It turns out that Woody Guthrie was hospitalized at the time in Graystone Psychiatric Hospital due to a condition called Huntington's Disease. Dylan goes to the hospital to visit Guthrie and he meets Pete Seeger, a famous folk singer who ended up helping Dylan's musical career. While at the hospital, Bob Dylan played a song dedicated to Guthrie called "Songs of Woody". My favorite part of the movie was when Dylan was beginning to get famous and did a duet with Joan Baez at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. They sang "It Ain't Me, Babe." It was at a later Newport Folk Festival that...

Movie review of Wicked Part One

Image
On November 23rd, I saw Wicked Part One with my best friend in the theater in South Orange. It was based on the 2003 Broadway musical of the same name and a book by Gregory  Maguire in 1995.  It was about the backstory of Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch of the North. It takes place before the events of Dorothy Gale in the Wizard of Oz.   The movie starts out with the opening number "No One Mourns the Wicked" and people celebrating the death of the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba. Then Glinda appears and confirms that Elphaba is dead. After Glinda tries to leave, someone asks her if Glinda and Elphaba were friends. She says yes and tells the people her and Elphaba's backstory.  Glinda and Elphaba attended a college in Oz called Shiz University. Elphaba was dropping off her sister Nessarose who is in a wheelchair. After Madame Morrible who is the Dean of Sorcery at Shiz University sees Elphaba's magical powers she accepts Elphaba i...
